On May 30, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received newly appointed Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Russia Simon Marco Mumwi, who presented copies of his credentials.

The parties exchanged views on a range of issues related to the further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Tanzanian relations, including strengthening the trust-based political dialogue and expanding trade, economic and other forms of cooperation, with an emphasis on the implementation of joint projects in energy, including nuclear, and transport, as well as assistance in training Tanzanian professional staff.

They also reaffirmed the shared support of Moscow and Dar es Salaam for maintaining constructive interaction within the UN and on other multilateral platforms, based on the two countries’ fundamental proximity on current issues of the regional and global agenda.
